We arrived in Rajkot around 5:30pm on Friday December 30, 2011 and were immediately greeted by District 3060 GSE Coordinator Sushrut Mankad, Rajkot GSE Coordinator Sanjeev Nandani, and representatives from each of the four clubs in the district. The four clubs are RC Rajkot , RC Rajkot Midtown, RC Rajkot Metro, and RC Rajkot Greater.
After being picked up at Rajkot Airport, we headed to our resting place for the night, the Hotel Silver Palace. We had our first Gujarati dinner at Flavours Restaurant next to the hotel, which was delicious. We took a quick stroll around the surrounding neighborhood before getting our first full night of sleep since leaving Chicago two and a half days prior.
In the morning, we were picked up by our Rajkot host families to start our epic GSE trip through Gujarat. We'll share stories about our host families in every city as the trip progresses. Stay tuned!
